What happens when it’s time to celebrate the local brat’s birthday? Utter hilarity, that’s what. Here are my quick thoughts on Jonah’s birthday stories:
Red Army Surprise Party
Jonah drops the world’s least subtle hints regarding his upcoming birthday, and the entire Red Army proceeds to ignore them while planning a secret party for him! And meanwhile, MC, who’s been feeling like she doesn’t quite fit in, gets a great chance to get to know the Red Army boys, to Jonah’s simultaneous glee and jealousy. This guy is just too much, but I’m glad he’s open and communicative about it, haha. I enjoyed this story quite a lot. My favorite parts:
Poor Zero, who senses in MC a kindred spirit, different from all the other Red crazies. “Say, is that a beautiful, golden halo shining above your head?” Lmfao can’t wait for this guy’s route.
“I’ve never been particularly good at this sort of thing” – Lance. “This sort of thing” being basic fundamental people skills ^_^
“I’m a mess because I have no outlet for my jealousy!” Classic.
Brotherly Love
Jonah gets summoned to a birthday party hosted by his snooty Clemence relatives, who have a history of throwing him awful parties (they forgot to invite Luka once and gave Jonah crap for being sad…!). So MC conspires with Luka and Sirius to hatch a jailbreak/escape plan for Jonah, and it is glorious. Two words: Mary Poppins. I liked this story with its sexiness and silliness, but it definitely revealed some of Jonah’s character flaws. Route highlights:
Sirius hating on Jonah in his absence, calling him “Clingy Clemence” and “Cling of Hearts.” Savage! Didn’t think he had it in him, lmao.
Jonah hating on Sirius! “I can’t believe you and Luka were plotting on secret with that pied-piper jerk!” I am SO CURIOUS what the backstory is between these two. AFAIK it hasn’t shown up in their main stories!
MC laying down the judgement at the Clemence party. “Not only is your dessert table missing mille-feuille, I can’t see a single strawberry anywhere!”
Overall, I thought both stories were really fun to read! Jonah is a super entertaining fictional character. But he’d be such a pain in the ass IRL! This is really highlighted in Brotherly Love, given his obsession with always looking good for MC and his fixation with “being cool.” Jonah honey, you look like cotton candy, stop trying to look cool, lmfao.
I’m a total sucker for wedding events, and this one was no exception. TBH I enjoyed almost all these routes! But here is an attempt at a ranking from least to most favorite:
#4: Fenrir Godspeed
“This is an engagement ring from me to you. Will you accept it?”
Fenrir and MC agree to help model as the bride and groom in a fake wedding for his friend, who’s running a “Bridal Fair.” Cue insecurity and angst over it not being a real wedding on MC’s end. Luckily for her, Fenrir does in fact have plans to get engaged, and ends up proposing right before the “I Do’s” in the mock wedding! That’s cute and all…but imho MC has a bit of growing up to do before she should think about getting married, haha. Route highlight: F hiding their kiss from the crowd with his officer’s hat ^_^
#3: Sirius Oswald
“MC, I love you. And I will love you for the rest of my life.”
When MC is cursed by a Horcrux book with the maturity level of a 13 year old, a lot is on the line. If Sirius can’t give her “four somethings” in three days, her memories of him will disappear. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… sounds familiar, eh? Sirius manages to get MC his grandma’s ring, a wedding dress, a borrowed veil, and blue shoes in time, but what the book really wants is… a proposal. At the last second he proposes a future proposal, which I guess is good enough, haha. Route highlight: “Guess if I’m forgotten, they’ll be lining up to take my place” (after Ray flirts).
#2: Edgar Bright
“I don’t want to let you go home tonight.”
Edgar’s route starts with him semi-tricking MC into helping him out, by masquerading as his wife at a married-couples-only party. Our resident Jack of Hearts is investigating the surprisingly hot party host for drug dealings. MC and Ed might not even be dating, but they are suspiciously good at fooling practically everyone present… 🙂 Too bad Edgar gets caught when he goes snooping around for drug evidence! The Premium End is gloriously and satisfyingly action packed, and I adored reading MC and Edgar work together as a team! Route highlight: MC taking down a goon with a MOP, lmfao.
#1: Lancelot Kingsley
“Just loving you isn’t enough. A lifetime isn’t enough. I want you to give me eternity.”
Lance starts his route by telling a shopkeeper “it’s a little early to be thinking about marriage” with MC. But after an adventure regarding an heirloom dress, he’s totally changed his tune (“For a hundred years. For a thousand years. For all time until the world stops turning—I want you to be known forever as the beloved of the King of Hearts, Lancelot Kingsley”). …Like. The guy basicallyyy proposes to MC in the Central Quarter garden. After taking her there on a WHITE HORSE. The day after giving her a hickey, Shingen-style, to prove that she’s good enough for him. Can he get any more extra?! I’ve been saving his main route for last (among the four starter routes), and I cannot freaking wait, lmfao.
Overall, I really hope Cybird decides to make a Suite 3 because this event was charming and awesome 🙂 What did you think of this event?
Okay. No matter what you might think of Mr. Jack of Hearts, can we all agree that he had one of the best pre-route promotions ever? That surprise IkeSen appearance was hilarious. 🙂
Anyways. This route starts out with a bang, after MC’s things from Earth (aka her ticket back to London) get stolen by a group of shady thieves in Red territory. After a serendipitous encounter with Ed in the forest, he offers to have her stay at Red HQ, while he investigates the crime. The Black Army agrees that this is a good idea, and so MC’s life with the Red Army begins.
The story spends a lot of the time fleshing out every single Red character. Jonah is a clear standout (“I see Alice is here, too. With an impertinent look on her face, as usual”). In what is probably my favorite scene in the first half of the story, Ed and MC spend an entire episode searching for poor Jonah’s sleepy hamster! But this is Ed’s route, so let’s focus on him for a second. He’s a super busy dude, but always seems find time to hang out with MC. We learn that he’s a huge candy and animal lover, and kind of flirty, to boot. MC digs it.
But there’s definitely something shady about Edgar. His soldiers are terrified him. Zero, his protege, doesn’t trust him at all. MC ignores all the ominous warning signs (the game foreshadows like nobody’s business), and even starts up a bit of a romance with the dude! But one day, an anonymous letter leads MC to Edgar’s safe, where she discovers a whole stack of unopened letters from the frantic Black Army. Turns out they never okay’d MC’s stay at Red HQ, after all (Ed forged a letter). This entire time, he’s been trying to lure her over to the dark Red side with kindness.
MC runs away, and from here on out, everything is a glorious, cheesy drama/adventure. Between kidnappings, attempted coups, attempted murders (!!), and plots within plots, for the very first time, I actually felt a sense of danger and risk in the IkeRev world. It shouldn’t take this review to tell you that there’s a happy ending, but regardless, the journey there was pretty great.
To be honest, I thought the romance aspect of this route was a little lackluster. Don’t get me wrong, Edgar’s gentle flirtatiousness was super fun to read, but beyond that, I didn’t really get a good sense of his personality. It certainly doesn’t help that the writers definitely did more telling than showing in terms of revealing Ed’s dark backstory as Jack of Hearts. Also, Jonah pretty much stole the spotlight every time he made an appearance (which was a lot!). ^_^
Criticisms aside, if you like the IkeRev world, I’d still definitely recommend this route! It has a strong non-romantic plot. There’s tons of lore and backstory, and we get to see Almond Amon’s face for the first time (that alone made the entire route worth, lmao). And hey, if you like Edgar more than I do, more power to you! You’ll be able to enjoy this route even more. 🙂
Choice quotes:
“When MC finds out about your plans, do you still think you’ll be able to smile?” – Zero, my new 2nd fave Red Army character
“It’s a perfect night for betrayal. Wouldn’t you agree?” – a character
Personality: 6/10. I think Edgar has a ton of potential (who doesn’t like suspicious characters!? See: IkeSen Mitsuhide, SLBP Hanzo). But due to writing issues or something, he ended up being less compelling than he could’ve been! I know Cybird can do better (and they do, even with him, because his birthday event was amazing).
Appearance: 3/10. The middle part of his hair somehow lies underneath his two bangs awkwardly, and I don’t get it at all. Lmao.
MC: 6.5/10. Poor MC’s kind of too gullible/trusting in this route. I did thoroughly enjoy her reaction post Ed-is-shady reveal though.
Plot/Payoff: 9/10. If you like cheesy drama and adventure as much as I do, you’re going to love this plot. The last third of the story is thrilling.
Personal enjoyment: 7.5/10. I didn’t love the romance trajectory in this route, but the story itself was a good read!
IkeRev’s been out for, what, four months, and they’re already throwing a wedding event at us? Cybird sure doesn’t play around. And those CG’s… 💕
Anyway, here was my personal ranking of the stories, from least to most fave!
#4: Jonah Clemence
“Let me be the one to escort you for the rest of your life.”
Jonah’s aunt tries to set him up for an arranged marriage with a powerful Clemence ally, and instead of keeping MC in the loop about everything like a normal human being, this idiot secretly arranges a marriage proposal to MC (using a dress in lieu of a ring…), confusing the heck out of her in the process. He’s also rude to MC when she notices things, like, oh, a photo of the pretty marriage candidate (“This has nothing to do with you”). Way to go, champ. 🙄So sure, the route ends cutely, but overall I wasn’t super impressed with our drama queen’s communication skills in this event. That CG is A+ though. ^_^
#3 Loki Genetta
“I’ll never let you go, for the rest of your life.”
MC and Loki attend a wedding, and wedding bells start ringing in MC and Loki’s head as well. He plays house with MC, and works to win over a disapproving Seth (“I refuse to accept this creepy little cat as your boyfriend!”). And on the day of the wedding they attend, he essentially proposes to MC…by magicking a wedding dress onto her! I’m sure that wouldn’t ruffle any feathers at an IRL wedding reception, haha. It’s also implied that MC and Loki have gotten engaged after only a short period of dating. What could possibly go wrong? Then again, I’ve been told that Loki’s the yandere, and MC’s already making questionable life decisions by ditching her Earth life for a boy she’s known for only a month in every single damn route in this game, so ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
#2 Luka Clemence
“I didn’t come to rescue you because I promised to protect you. I came to rescue you because I couldn’t stand the idea of you never smiling again.”
How can a story featuring a couple who hasn’t even started dating yet be so cute?! Here, MC’s been getting harassed by a creepy baker who’s determined to marry MC (to get his hands on her baking skills), and Luka is assigned to be her bodyguard. Baker dude has a access to a shocking amount of resources considering his occupation: he’s got magic crystals, and GOONS. A lot of them! Luka gets tricked and MC gets kidnapped into a wedding hall (with guests), which does beg the question: what was the baker’s game plan?! One sentence from MC and the gig is up. But let’s roll with it – because this is all a setup for Luka to charge in like the dashing prince he is and sweep MC away. Literally.
This was a shockingly dark setup for a wedding event story, and I do wish MC fought a little more! But Luka was so sweet and precious here, omg. TBH he hadn’t really caught my eye before this event, but I am totally rethinking my opinion of him. ^_^
#1 Ray Blackwell
“I feel like I’ve been waiting for you my whole life.”
MC learns about a pretty and rare magic crystal that people in the Cradle like to find/give to their SO’s, and she decides to go hunting for it, for Ray! What she doesn’t know: usually, this crystal is used to propose. Awkward! Except, it really isn’t, because when Ray cottons on to her plans, he rushes to find the crystal and propose, himself! In the Central Quarter garden. With all of MC’s favorite foods prepared. And magical champagne glasses that produce pretty flowers when clinked! What a prince king – I fell in love with this guy all over again. He has such a great IRL boyfriend personality 😍. Other highlights:
The mature and level-headed way he handled MC’s “secret” crystal hunt (“If you have any problems, you know you can always talk to me.”)
Hugging his way into figuring out MC’s dress size. Sneaky!
…So that’s my personal ranking. How about yours? Let me know, I’m super curious! 💕
Right. I totally forgot this event existed and only really got around to doing 2 of the routes (the solo ones), haha. So here are my brief thoughts:
Edgar
Edgar’s route was fantastic. My heart went out to this poor guy and his difficulty with celebrating himself. 😦 My favorite parts:
“You were talking sadly with the ducks. Naturally I was concerned.”
“Nobody should be allowed to see your beautiful body without your express permission.” Good on you Edgar, flipping the trope and respecting women! 😍
Seriously, where is this awesome version of Ed in his main route?! I was completely charmed here. For a guy who claims he isn’t a gentleman, he sure is good at acting like one. So glad MC was able to save birthdays for him. 🙂
Luka
Poor Luka’s route was a little less stellar, imho (since he has no legitimate reason to dislike birthdays!), but still pretty cute. MC wants to make him happy. But what truly makes him happy is training to be stronk…and MC’s smile. Absolutely precious. Highlights:
Fenrir building a tower of cream puffs
Ray and Sirius playing poker to decide who’s gonna have to give Luka a bottle of liquor
When I first encountered Jonah in his prologue, I hated him. He was such a little shit: rude af, unwilling to listen to MC, and the way the artists colored in his cheeks made him look like a little kid, to boot!
…That said, if you’re reading IkeRev and haven’t yet, try giving his route a chance. As MC puts it, “Jonah has a lot of good points – they’re just kind of hard to find!” 🙂
Let’s start from the beginning. Shortly into Jonah’s route, he comes up with a “foolproof” plan to ensure that MC will help advance the glorious Red Army’s cause. He’s so sure that the plan will work, in fact, that he discloses all of it to MC (the enemy): “I will capture your heart. And I will train you to follow me and the Red Army until that is what you yourself desire”. His strategy is to woo MC with a series of mandatory dates, because what’s more romantic than being bossed around by an arrogant jolly rancher?
Interestingly, the Black Army’s also a fan this development, if only because it buys them some time to deal with the inexorable Red Army and its magic. And so, Jonah and MC’s dates begin. At first he tries to ply MC with shopping and finery, but MC’s having none of it, to his utter bafflement (and my delight) (“You turned down all of my amazing presents. What is wrong with you? You’re not reacting the right way”). The two of them do ultimately find common ground… over food. Sweets, to be more specific. These are my kind of people.
Over the course of about five or six dates, Jonah’s wish comes true, and MC does indeed start falling for him. Even though he’s, in her words, “domineering, contrary, and selfish” (but never insulting). Even though he’s particular and kind of vain. Even though, in one super irksome scene, he half-heartedly announces his intention to assault MC (!!). Long story short, he didn’t want to, but thought he had to, to satisfy King Lancelot. I’m not happy about this scene, but Jonah’s only saving grace is that it was highly OOC and he broke character very quickly, I guess. Also, MC was suitably angry over the whole thing. Still, ugh.
In any case, unnecessary fake assault scenes aside, what MC does fall for: Jonah’s adorable and deeply caring personality, hidden poorly behind a paper thin mask of aloofness (he rushes to enemy Black Army quarters the second he hears she might be sick). His strong sense of justice: elitism aside, at least he believes that nobility/Red Army has a duty to protect the innocent. His sad backstory (see: Episode 20). I’m usually very meh over the internal monologues as various MC’s discover their feelings towards the LI, but MC’s self-revelation is pretty amazing:
It was actually some time ago that I first noticed—this feeling that the sweet batter of a cake had been placed in the oven of my heart. As heat was slowly applied, the cake had risen and begun to give off a delicious scent. It had been baked to a perfect golden brown and all that was left to do was take it out of the oven and eat it. But this was the one cake that I could not eat. No matter how delicious it would be, I couldn’t let myself indulge.
The writers don’t spend too much time having MC angst over her newfound secret feelings towards Jonah, thank goodness. Instead, unlike with Ray’s route, plot hits Jonah’s story bright and early, after she and Jonah are attacked en route to a Red-Black meeting by magic cultists! We learn that Lance has been working hand in hand with the evil mastermind behind all this (!!!), and after he Imperio’s MC, everything goes to hell in a handbasket almost instantly. Jonah and MC end up on the run from everyone, Red and Black alike, and this is when the route really starts to shine.
Because past this point, Jonah doesn’t really even bother hiding his own feelings for MC too well (“Even if the whole world turns against you, I will believe you until to bitter end. I promise I will save you”). We get to enjoy almost a third of a route’s worth of some A+ romance mixed in with (relatively low-stakes) adventure/tension, which is great cos I feel like it’s not all that common with Cybird! And when MC jumps the gun and actually confesses her feelings to him first, his reaction is pure gold (“I’ll never forgive you. Once this is all finished, I’ll get you back a million times over!”). I had no idea a kiss could be angry and cute at the same time, hahaha.
At the end of the day, excluding the crappy faux-rapey scene (which I really disliked, can you tell?), this route was super fun. Although Jonah’s fabulous/upbeat/snarky personality isn’t exactly ideal romance fodder for me, it makes for great reading. He and MC have excellent banter. I also enjoyed their interactions with the other characters. Highlight: poor Jonah, the loving big bro, getting rejected by Luka “rebellious” younger bro again and again. ^_^
Plot wise, this route does get really sad at one point, but otherwise, it’s a glorious fluff fest, even with all the drama/adventure. As with Ray’s route, I do feel like the final conflict resolved itself a little too simply (also there’s a plot-hole regarding why magic crystals need to be destroyed), but unlike with Ray’s route, at least MC and Jonah’s happy ending felt earned after all that went on beforehand! The pacing for this route was great, and, weird as this sounds, extremely well suited for the mobile 5-chapters-per-day freemium format. There wasn’t a single episode that was boring. Overall, if you like fun and fluff, you’ll probably enjoy Jonah’s route quite a bit!
Choice quotes
“Common opinion is that one should lay the mille-feuille on its side when eating it, but I disagree. Letting the strawberry or whipped cream touch the plate goes against all aesthetic sense.” “How could loving someone ever be wrong? Even if it is emotionally taxing.” “I didn’t know you were hiding that formidable elbow-strike up your sleeve. You’re the toughest woman I know!”
Personality: 9/10. This kid, is2g. He might not have much in terms of raw sex appeal, cute, fabulous, sweets-loving personality is a joy to read. And every time he tries to lie, it’s hilarious.
Appearance: 5.5/10. His face looks really young to me! Too young. The CG’s aren’t bad, though, and I definitely dig the fancy hair.
MC: 9/10. MC is proactive, sassy, and fun. Her dynamic with Jonah is great, and overall, I liked her a lot.
Plot/Payoff: 8/10. To set expectations, Jonah’s story is fairly simple and un-nuanced. But otome isn’t exactly the place to turn to for high literature, anyway. The pacing is great, and his story really suits the daily episodic format.
Personal enjoyment: 9/10. Generally speaking a fun, fluffy, and exciting read!
This is English IkeRev’s first ever Story Event, and boy has it been interesting! The Story Event system is really different from IkeSen/MidCin’s. Basically, your friends’ activity levels don’t impact your ability to finish the event! Which is fantastic if you’re like me and half your friends list inevitably stops improving their score by day 3. On the other hand, it’s impossible to finish the event without using extra items – I believe the maximum is something like 6 or 7 out of 8 (I got 6, no probs), unless you’re an android who doesn’t sleep? Personally, I prefer getting 75% of routes without having to stress out over my friends’ event scores vs the IkeSen model, but to each their own ^_^
As for the event itself? To be honest, I’m not a big fan of the Character A vs Character B-style events. I totally get the appeal (two hot guys flirting with you at the same time!) – but if you read the event stories from beginning to end, the pacing is kind of off. The justification behind two guys (who are sometimes good friends!) flirting with MC in front of each other is sometimes weak. And MC always gets all flustered, until the last episode, where it’s revealed that she’s been dating one of them this whole time?! Talk about awkward. Anyway. Here’s my personal ranking of each individual story pair:
#4: Ray vs Luka
There’s a harvest festival in town, and MC wants to participate in the couples’ dance contest. Problem is, she needs a partner. Ray is happy to help, despite being a total dancing noob, and so is Luka, despite not having danced for years. So that’s cute and all, but…color me old fashioned but isn’t the polite thing to do in these situations to *always* pick your irl partner? So MC’s waffling was generally off-putting, esp. in Ray’s route. Also, given how much both Ray and MC supposedly suck at dancing, they definitely shouldn’t have won…
# 3: Edgar vs Loki
Loki the merchant invites MC to a merchant’s party, where Edgar happens to be attending, on secret Red Army business. Despite their clear dislike of each other, they work together to get MC to safety when she’s randomly picked to choose someone to gift some fancy earrings to. In the premium end she picks Ed, and he gives a public declaration of love before whisking her away in a carriage for kisses and more. Which is frankly a little shocking, since I was under the impression that Ed’s supposed to be Mitsuhide 2.0?! Anyways, Loki and Edgar aren’t exactly friends, so I found the entire premise of this event a little less strange, but still, the lack of any sort of relationship being hinted at until the end, given there was a dance party on the line, was odd.
#3: Lancelot vs Jonah
The Red Army is reviving an old tradition of hosting a play duel between its King and Queen, and somehow, MC’s been conned into giving a kiss to the winner! Both men are determined to win…even though MC’s only dating one of them. So that was kind of weird (also Lance, I don’t buy your argument that you were simply “egging Jonah on”…). Anyways, I’m currently total Red Army trash so I did enjoy this route better than the previous two, but it shares a lot of the same problems that those routes exhibit. But who’d say no to being the meat in a Lance/Jonah man sandwich, let’s be real.
#1: Sirius vs Fenrir
Sirius and Fenrir both want MC to help them out with their crazy workloads for a week, and Ray has MC pick one, after doing a trial day with each person. Sirius basically has tons of paperwork and some domestic minutiae to take care of, and Fenrir’s investigating poachers (at the beach!). Given how legitimately busy both these boys are, the premise felt way less forced than the other ones, which was nice. Also, Sirius’ route… hot damn! With all that wall pinning and door pinning, he sure builds a good case for an old older man… 😉
Overall, I thought that this event was… charming. The plots weren’t exactly nuanced or shocking, and I definitely didn’t feel sad about missing out some of the endings. But given how thirsty all IkeRev fans (including myself) are for more character content, I’m also just happy that there *was* an event! Haha.
MC’s Alice in Wonderland-inspired journey to love in the Cradle begins when she accidentally falls down a literal rabbit hole. Ray, president king of the Black Army, takes her in after a somewhat unpleasant encounter with the Red Army, aka 500 year old enemy of the Black Army. He cuts a deal with MC (protection for the next 30 days in exchange for her magic-zapping powers), but, as his buddies are quick to point out to him, it’s not like the Black Army really needs her powers. Ray’s just nice like that.
The bulk of Ray’s route features MC realizing just how amazing of a guy Ray is, while getting a nice introduction to the ins and outs of this world. Among other things, MC learns that Ray is a huge book nerd. She finds out (the hard way) that he can use magic – a bit of a surprise. And, most importantly, the guy loves cats! In what is one of my favorite scenes in this entire route, MC helps Ray fight off some bounty hunters (with a broom!!), and Ray makes fun of her for it (“You have to actually let us protect you. That generally means not running into a sword fight with a broom”). Lmao.
Given how affable Ray is, especially for a king, it really isn’t all that surprising when MC starts falling in love, and vice versa. But both she and Ray are in denial, given 1) she’s set to return to Muggle Earth in less than a month, and 2) MC’s been warned that falling in love in this world would be a curse. And then plot arrives in full force, in the form of an explosion right in the center of the country, which the Red Army swears wasn’t caused by them. It takes both MC’s and Ray’s powers combined to take down the (not very scary) big baddie, and of course, in the end, the adorable couple gets their happily ever after, after all.
…You may have noticed that my summarization of the actual plot was pretty short. That’s because even with the fate of Cradle on the line, this route just didn’t feel all that dramatic, and plot didn’t feel like the main focus at all! Ray’s route definitely strikes me as the starter route. There is tons of exposition and world building. Which is super helpful, but I definitely hope this doesn’t carry over into the other three routes currently available since it cuts into plot time!
Along similar lines, imho Ray’s story lacked a certain amount of depth/complexity that would’ve made it truly memorable. And although Ray definitely had his great moments (see: cats), and AMAZING CG’s, he fell a little flat as a character. It doesn’t help that I think his rationale behind banning magic use in the Black Army is phenomenally stupid. Hasn’t this dude ever heard the saying “you don’t bring a knife to a gun fight”?!
Criticisms aside, I still have very high hopes for IkeRev (also, I nitpick because this is Cybird and IkeSen has taught me to have very high expectations, haha). The world is intriguing. Cybird has done a fantastic job mapping out all the main characters and their various relationships with each other. And, like a proper starter route, Ray’s route was great at selling me on many of other characters in the game (hellooooo Lancelot!!). And it’s not like Ray or his route was bad, either. He and MC share a ton of cute moments, and the banter between all the characters is super good. If you enjoy low-drama stories with a guy who’s as un-asshole as one can get, you’ll definitely really like Ray’s story!
Choice quotes (spoilers!) “Wielding a sword, and fighting in battle—these are things that involve people’s lives. This isn’t just some kid’s game.” “So long as you’re here, there’s no way I won’t come home.” “I never said this, but—I didn’t just like you. I loved you.”
Personality: 7/10. Ray’s seems like a really awesome guy, but he’s not particularly memorable, and not a very good military strategist imho.
Appearance: 9/10.The Harry Potter series left me incredibly weak to green eyes and black hair. 11/10 every time the gloves show up.
MC: 8/10. I liked the MC! Spunky, but noticeably less cynical/sassy compared to IkeSen MC.
Plot/Payoff: 7/10. Ray’s and MC’s shenanigans were really cute to read, and I appreciated all the backstory. That said, imho this felt like a starter route and it lacked depth/plot tension.
